ACUPUNCTURE

Our acupuncturist has qualifications that correspond to a similar Chinese degree and are recognised by the WHO and he has treated over 4,000 customers.

Traditional Chinese medicine has a history stretching back thousands of years.

Acupuncture is perhaps the most widely known form of traditional Chinese medicine. After the initial analysis, the therapist chooses the acupoints to be manipulated. The treatment is carried out with extremely thin, disposable stainless steel needles, which are kept in the acupoints for 20 minutes.  After the treatment, the customer will feel very relaxed.  The number of sessions required varies widely. As a rule of thumb, the older the complaint, the longer the treatment period. For some only one session will be helpful, while others may need to make regular visits for several weeks. Acupuncture is effective for a wide range of problems, including:
  • Aches, tension and bloating
  • Respiratory ailments and common colds
  • Headache and migraine
  • Sleeping disorders, fatigue and depression
  • Hormonal problems
  • Gastric problems
  • Infections and allergies
  • Circulatory problems

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a treatment in which the therapist warms acupoints with cigar-shaped herbal sticks, with the glowing head of the stick held close to the acupoint. The moxa stick is made of mugwort, which does not cause allergic reactions when used in this way. Moxibustion is a milder treatment than acupuncture.

Cupping
We offer two types of cupping. In dry cupping, or vacuum cupping, a glass cup is applied on a selected area, creating a vacuum inside the cup. The cup is kept in this position for the required time. This may leave a mark on the skin that will disappear in a few days. Dry cupping is used particularly in treating neck and shoulder pain.

In microcupping, a couple of small wholes may also be pricked on the skin, after which the cup is placed on the skin as described above. This is particularly effective for rashes and acne.
